Perfect timing to review this truly wonderful product! Since flu season has officially arrived, I can confidently state that I have been empowered to stay healthy this winter thanks to my doctor! Thyroxal K-12 By Apex Energetics from OVitaminPro.com

This year my doctor advised blood testing and adrenal testing (a saliva test) as well as food allergy testing. I receivved the news that I was allergic to gluten and soy as well as tapioca (which is the main flour substitute in all gluten free breads and products ie. Mellow Mushroom pizza). I also was told I had Hypothyroidism. 

Relieved was I on my initial diagnosis to find out that I did not have to go the Armor Thyroid route or other! My doctor advised 2 capsules of Thyroxal K-12 every meal (along with Digestive Enzymes). Since there are 90 capsules in each bottle I would need 9 per day. Do the math = cha ching!

A Moment of Weakness by Karen Kingsbury

It has been a long time since I have read a fiction book for review. And I gotta tell ya I was so happy to have accepted A Moment of Weakness for review! Reading this book I immediately fell into the storyline. I found myself allowing an hour to read and then spent many hours in a comfy chair on my back porch. I hated to put this book down and I was sad for it to end!

Jade Connor was cool. Just a downright strong women with a heart of gold. She was a victim of many sad people's ignorance. Without being a spoiler, I did shake my fist a few times and ask "Why Jade? Why did you do it?" I just felt she led with her emotions too often and it made me frustrated. But I loved her because I saw me in her - the person who does not give up and always looks for the good in others. And I was happy to know her faith journey led her far.

In trying to find a fault in this book, I came up short. I could not find a single detail, errror or inconsistency. I only share that because in reading an entire book, there is always one picayune detail I come up with which I feel the need to share.

I realized in reading A Moment of Weakness that I need to read more Karen Kingsbury books! Her writing style is so fresh and to the point. I like that the details are not over emphasized or "wordy". She writes with crisp sentences and I do believe this is what makes me so easily get drawn into the story. I feel like Jade and Tanner are my friends. For the one week it took me to finish this book, I felt their presence as I thought often of them and what would happen in their world.

I cried, laughed and just thoroughly enjoyed A Moment of Weakness. I need to do more of this type of reading. These types of books are like a spa day for your soul. Reading truly does take you places can never go. I want to be in  Jade and Tanner's world forever.....

Pharmocracy by William Faloon

300+ pages of eye-opening information which every wise purchaser of anything supplement or drug-related needs in the evil days in which we are living! I was excited to review this hardcover book for many reasons. However, the takeaway which stuck with me the most was the new knowledge I have gained regarding the FDA and the corruption which exists in our government when it comes to trying to control the entire health care industry.

As the daughter of a Hospital Director of Pharmacy and Geriatric Specialist, I knew a bit about business aspect of the drug industry. I saw the little trinkets and logo laden pads, pens and letter openers enter our home growing up. Not a Christmas went by that a generic drug promotional this or that was not stuffed into our Christmas stocking. My Dad liked the attention of the drug reps and he would often beam when discussing how he was courted. I was also used to my Dad's homemade drug concoctions and being comforted by a spoonful of this or a spoonful of that. A pill would heal any ill! While other Dads would bring home pens from the office, we got many colored pills in safety cap orange plastic bottles.

Yes, as an adult I have paid the price for this self drugging. And so, my search for a better way had led my husband and I to Life Extension www.lef.org. And so, after reading Pharmocracy, I have come to fully understand just how cozy the FDA is with the drug industry. And it makes me burning mad!

My Dad will sadly and is dying on his own sword. For this reason, it is one of my life goals to reverse this legacy in my own life. Pharmocracy by William Faloon is a  must read for anyone serious about being empowered to fight the western world's power move to control every aspect of our healthcare. I may not be able to change what other people do to endanger their own health but I sure can plant seeds and sit back as hopefully some will listen.

In my recent one year commitment to better health, my doctor included this item in my health care (drug free) protocol. I saw another Adrenastim on www.ovitaminpro.com. The one prescribed for me is KR-72 and the other is KR-15. You do not need a prescription for this item. However, it is very important that you do receive counsel. 

I was excited to post this review because this item was not the easiest to figure out how to use. My doctor told me to "pump" a quarter-sized amount in the morning before coffee and then just before lunch. Looking back now, It would have been a good idea if I had shown him what my interpretation of a quarter-sized pump looked like. As it turned out, I had been pumping much less than I needed the first 5 months omg). It was the high amount of product along with another adrenal support supplement I had been taking that caused the hot flashing and racing thoughts into the night. We finally found the right amount and schedule.

I did not mind the slight smell but I did get a rash on my arms because I was not taking turns applying to the inside of my legs. The rash went away pretty quickly.

Vitamin D3 by Viva Labs - TLC In A Softgel!

I agreed to accept this product from Viva Labs because this product is perfect for my husband! (Yes, I supplement with a D3 with K supplement, but I need a Gluten Free Certified supplement.) What interested me in this product was the fact that the oil which is used to suspend the D3 is olive oil. Excellent! Check. The second major bonus is no soy! Check. Thirdly (why not?), Non-GMO as advertised on the Amazon.

I would have liked to see soy free and Non-GMO listed on the bottle. Just a suggestion.

Although we live in sunny South Florida and my husband and I are always in the sun, we do use sunscreen. Therefore, my doctor has advised that D3 will be one of the few supplements we will need to take for life. And so, because Viva Labs D3 is a generous 5,000 IU in each 1 softgel - this product is a no-brainer!

Island Fresh Coconut Oil - OMG!

The owner of Island Fresh - Mark Anderson blessed me with this oh so generous 54 fl oz organic, virgin, cold-pressed, non-gmo, unrefined coconut oil. The product arrived packed snugly. Anyone who complains that their item arrives leaking is honestly just simply lying! The seal was so tight as well as the cap that I had to get my husband to help out and open it and he struggled. This type of packaging ensures that this item is pure and untouched from any oxygen which would alter its freshness.

I love the simple approach this small company employs in regard to the labeling. I also appreciate the design of their website http://www.island-fresh.com/ . Good health does not have to be complicated!

The taste! OMG! Fresh coconuty, just a tad unctuous. I started out taking one tablespoon before bed. I have to tell you that my digestion (sparing you the details) has been better and I prefer this in place of fiber at night. Taking some oil before bedtime helps my liver out and is better than dessert! Google the benefits of coconut oil - guaranteed that your findings will be ala Bubba shrimp... 

I gave this oil to my dog on a dinner plate. It was gone lickety split! And I also scooped some into a glass Ball jar. Now when she sees me pick up the jar she comes a runnin'. She thinks I am going to feed it to her, but I apply it to her skin as she tends to have dry skin. As soon as I apply it she is licking it off! The benefits are twofold.

Since I have just been diagnosed with hypothryroidism (with supplementation I dodged the "Armour Thyroid" meds bullet) I was interested in coconut oil as thyroid support as mentioned on the label. 

I liked applying the oil to my hair (yummy smell), but found it was a bit too oily even after I shampooed it. However, this item is a great after shower moisturizer! I have added to a glass cosmetic jar and use it in place of expensive lotions which I have found even though gluten free, and contained wonderfully beneficial plant-based ingredients - just don't do much for my suntanned skin.

I could sing praises of Island Fresh Coconut Oil all day long long into the night. This jar has a special place in my kitchen away from heat and light. Lavender Essential Oil by Elrique Naturals

I grew up with a garden-loving Mom. She grew lavender in our backyard. She would snip it in the warm months and then let it dry and crush it. Jojoba Oil by Elrique Naturals

One ingredient but so many benefits! This carrier oil was a welcome addition to my health care regime. After recently battling a thyroid condition, my hair became brittle and started falling out by brushfuls for 5 days. Quite humbling  situation for me - a scary situation. And so, I am in the rebuilding stages of hair care and thus was quite excited to review Jojoba Oil by Elrique Naturals.

Here is what I did for this review. I call this concoction my Health Loss Help Blend: I mixed 3 drops each of Rosemary, Cedarwood and Lavender with 2 oz. Jojoba Oil. Easy to measure in a pet rubber syringe or the handy dandy measuring shot glass I keep in my bathroom. I used an amber glass container to store my oils. Shook well. Massaged into hair and scalp for 5 minutes. Left on hair for 1 hour, then washed. I will do this 1-2 times a week because it was that tingly good and left my hair squeaky clean. The frizzy brittle hair is gone. I did trim the ends of my hair before using this oil blend.

While sitting with the oil on my head, I read a book and drank a cup of coffee. The summer here in Florida is almost gone and a cool crisp wind had just come from the East. I had a grateful moment as I inhaled the oils. I detected Rosemary as the predominant scent. Jojoba oil does not have a scent but is the perfect oil to add another essential oil to it so that it can be applied to the skin.

I devised another fun way to enjoy Elrique Naturals Jojoba Oil. I have a ton of pretty powders with mica. I am referring to cosmetic grade shimmer here. I have been buying the Burt's Bees Radiance lotion but it has gotten pricey and the company has changed hands and I just decided I am not going to buy it anymore. And so, I have added the shimmer to the Jojoba Oil and am now using it as a body shimmer oil. Fun, right? The glitter stays on longer and is subtle. This oil is anything but greasy and sinks into my skin lickety split!!

SpiraLife by Lifestyle Dynamics

I couldn't wait to try this handy gadget! At first I was a bit intimidated, thinking I had to watch all the videos and go through the entire eBook. I did check out the videos on how to spiral a zucchini to make a very cool rosette with a tomato! I also gleaned quite quickly how to use the other side to make a perfectly formed zucchini spiral for yummy pasta.

I lightly sauteed the zucchini "pasta" in olive, butter and fresh basil. I added some raw garlic and a spritz of lemon juice and salt and pepper. Voila! A healthy, gluten free meal in seconds (and for pennies)!

I also sliced a cucumber and tossed it into a salad. Of course you need to cut the spirals because you could slice the entire cucumber in one try - which would end up being the length of 3 football fields! Ha Ha!

When I sliced the zucchini for the pasta replacement, I couldn't help but notice how pretty the thin edges of green were against the rest of the zuchini. If I had more time, I would use my mandoline to shred red onion finely. Adding another shaved vegetable to a salad or zucchini pasta would be great! I did use the cap in order not to waste as much of the zucchini and cucumber, but I still had a 2 inch or so stick left, which I popped in my mouth because I never ate a "pencil" before let alone one with a sharp point (you will get what I am saying once you use the SpiraLife)!

What makes this product stand out from the rest is not only the price, but it's easy to clean design. Although a very handy brush came with this product, I was able to rinse it under cold water without having to use the brush.
